To Grow Flowers

girl in tulips

There was a little girl

In her flower beds

Nothing ever grew

Cause the rain always poured

So that the sun never shown

She was covered with mud

The cold splatter of the water

Created puddles in the garden

Growing into a swamp

Nothing ever grew

The girl was sad

Cause her flowers never grew

She questioned the hard land

“Why are you so cruel,

And never let my flowers grow?”

Suddenly the clouds parted

The sun shown down on her

Drying the mud off her

Her plants pushing up

Blooming all around her

A voice filled the garden

“You may hate the rain,

But without it,

You can’t enjoy the flowers

That are born from it.”
